I sure do, it's just very hard to come by. People are selfish by nature, and with the growing trend of laziness and ignorance contributing to the spread of hate and disrespect for one another, it is a rare find, and a treasure to have. If one can find it, and share it with another person, one is most fortunate.

A child first experiences unconditional love from their parents and the parents from a child. Also once you truly fall in love with someone it is not selfish in anyway, causing it to be unconditional, because you would love and be there for someone no matter what happens. So yes I do believe in unconditional love.

The only unconditional love is God's love for us. Humans are not capable of unconditional love as unconditional love is perfect. And as you know, us humans are far from perfect. I think a mother's love for her child is about as close as we can come. But even a mother's love can become conditional depending on her child's behavior and response to her (of course this does not happen in all mother/child relationships, but can happen).

The love you are talking about as "true love" is a romaticized feeling that we call true love. But it is based on a lot of different things, such as beauty, intelligence, kindness, and so forth. We all don't possess all these qualities, but if you find someone with most all of the qualities you think you want in a mate, you might think that the feelings you have for this person equals true love. It very well may be -- but it is conditioned on the person having those qualities.

Unconditional Love is not true love. True love is something you find, like in a mate. Unconditional love is the way a mother loves her child. Is the way God loves us. Is the way a dog loves his master.

EDIT:
And "me" God is unconditional love. That is why he offers forgiveness. All you have to do is ask. And don't confuse God with religions. Religion is man, thus with it's fault. And Hell is a choice that man makes.

"Butterfly" your name alone is love. Love is all around you. It is in every breathe you take. It is in everything you see around you. Nature is full of love, you just have to be willing to feel it. No, I am not a crazy hippie freak, but my mom was. As still is two Aunts and three Uncles. And I love them despite it AND because of it.

"DEB" you sound like a sad, unhappy person. My heart breaks for you. Have you not ever had a dog?

**Thank-you "HOPE"

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RELATIONSHIPS. Unconditional love is there from the start. Even before the start.

So, you don't have a universal standard in applying your love? It's okay if someone close to you hurts you, but not someone you don't know? How can your loved ones be certain that you'll always love them unconditionally? Not only do I believe in unconditional love, I believe in practicing it. Why should I provide an inconsistent or "favored" example. Love is looking out for one's best interests, and I feel like that is the duty of all people, regardless of conditions. In a collectivist society this would make sense to most people.

Unconditional love is love with no conditions, which has to be set up by someone. So if your love has no conditions, it will be unconditional. This means unconditional love comes from a decision not to attach conditions to your love, and therefor unconditional love is a choice, and therefore possible.

Yes. Love is unconditional. When it becomes conditional, it is no longer love.

Whether love or unconditional love actually exists or not is another question.

In theory I believe in it, in practice I'm not so sure. Even religions have the unforgivable sin and I think of God when thinking of unconditional love. Yet God designed a world where people could be sent to hell, which is the absence of love. I think the human love most resembalant of unconditional love is maternal and paternal, but in society we have seen the breaking points. I suppose the only way to know if it is real, to trully believe, is to experience it firsthand. It is something all deserve but no one is capable of. A conondrum.

What do you mean? You are finding it difficult to let go? open up? Unconditional love has many faces but only one path. It means loving people despite their floors or differences. We are all different and equal. You can love someone but you don't have to like them or necessarily agree with them. Family and friends are loved unconditionally. If you are talking true love between a man and a woman, partners. You don't stop loving someone because they let you down one time. etc etc........... Loving unconditionally is loving without subjecting to conditions, it's Love. You just know. When you fall in Love, you will know. Patience is the key.

You don't have to relate to everyone the same way, but unconditional love is the standard. It means that no matter what anybody does or is like, you still have patience and don't give in to hate or revenge. You can be this way with everyone, but others that mean more to us call out for more commitment and closeness and higher forms of love.
