This brings back memories of 9/11. The feelings of hopelessness and despair....

I pray for the victims and their families.

LESS praying is what gets us into this situations in the first place.

I am always there to help join in prayer with those that ask for or need it. I will also stand in for those that don't understand how important it is to stop bashing for a minute and pray. GOD bless you for putting this on here.
Please remember the ones that will end up with 'survivors guilt' too. They will ask "why not me?" Please pray for them too.

I took a break from the politics section myself. I think at times like this, we can all set our differences aside. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like for the families, to receive that dreaded call or visit yesterday. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

I'm with you. But if someone opens fire anywhere near me while I take a break, and if I sense that I can prevent the further loss of life, I'm charging the ************ and subduing him. My safety is not the issue.

Question (and wondering) . . .

WHAT does one 'pray for' in these situations?
And what outcome does one 'expect' from 'praying'???

Seems to me that this thing called 'praying' is like taking an aspirin for a headache. Perhaps less praying, and more 'doing' by humans, would more effectively 'fix' our problems, that seem to drive some to these murderous actions. Perhaps we shall become extinct, waiting (and praying) for some unseen intervening results from some 'power' beyond - when taking responsibility for our own actions and behaviors is the real answer to our problems.

Yes, I feel what has occurred was very sudden and tragic...

Came as a shock really, and I feel terrible.
