if absence of light is darkness, that means absence of darkness is light, right? if we accept this then we accept both darkness and light exsist. But doesnt that also mean neither of these things exsist? But if neither of these thing exsist, then it means both these things exsist as well. So how can something both exist and non-exist?

SCIENTIFIC RESION

Darkness, in science, is a relatively low level of light.
A dark object reflects fewer visible photons than other objects, and therefore appears dim in comparison. For example, matte black paint does not reflect visible light and appears dark, but white paint reflects all visible light and appears bright. For more information see color.

However, light cannot simply be absorbed without limit. Energy, like visible light, cannot be created or destroyed. It can only be converted from one type of energy to another. Most objects that absorb visible light reemit it as infrared light. So, although an object may appear dark, it is likely bright at a frequency that a human being cannot see. For more information see thermodynamics.

A dark area has few, if any, light sources present, making everything hard to see, like at night. Exposure to alternating light and darkness (night and day) has caused several evolutionary adaptations to darkness. When a vertebrate, like a human, is placed in a dark area, its iris dilates, allowing more light to enter the eye and improving night vision.

The scientific definition of light includes the entire electromagnetic spectrum, not just visible light, so it is physically impossible to create perfect darkness. For example, all objects radiate heat in the form of infrared light and Gamma rays, extremely high frequency light, can penetrate even dense materials.

GOD & EVIL

Darkness is referred to as being the opposite of light; following the less morally correct or evil way (Good and Evil).

The Dark path while not necessarily being evil is often thought of as the path that is non-moral; often associated with those who are self serving and short sighted. It is the path that leads quickly to power for those who have little regard for the people who might be affected for the worst by the actions of the individual seeking to rise.

Turning to Darkness is almost always the result of the loss of something dear to the individual who turns to darkness which in turn leads to the desire to fix the problem. Revenge on the killer of a loved one, the power to heal someone (be it mystical or medical) or the need for revenge against those who had hurt you, in this case the loss would be pride.

Light exists, that is a given.
Darkness is a mental concept meaning: absence of light. As such darkness exists.

So both darkness and light exist. No problemo.

Then you go on and say "that also mean neither of these things exist"? Why?

Why does statement
"something and its contrary exists"
means the contrary of this statement must be true?

Furthermore, the contrary of a statement of the form "A and B" is "not A OR not B", instead of "not A and not B".

But the fallacy in your logic is that you give the same properties to things and statements. If a thing exists, its contrary exists also. But if a statement is true, its contrary is not true.

Why does it mean neither of those issues exist? Darkness exists, mild exists. interior the absence of one the different prevails. a extra physically powerful actual definition could be that darkness is the absence of photons or particular wavelengths on an identical time as mild is the presence of pronounced photons. Even this is debatable, however, because of the fact even a gloomy place would be finished of phtons. If none of those photons eneter a detector consisting of an eye fixed, even however, that's going to constantly look darkish. area is finished of sunshine, yet we in ordinary terms see those photons that come into our eyes.

Not at all. Let me explain. When all the wavelengths of the visible light spectrum strike your eye at the same time, white is perceived. Thus, visible light is sometimes referred to as white light. Technically speaking, white is not a color at all, but rather the combination of all the colors of the visible light spectrum. If all the wavelengths of the visible light spectrum give the appearance of white, then none of the wavelengths would lead to the appearance of black. Once more, black is not actually a color. Technically speaking, black is merely the absence of the wavelengths of the visible light spectrum. So when you are in a room with no lights and everything around you appears black, it means that there are no wavelengths of visible light striking your eye as you sight at the surroundings.

Hmmm..
Interesting, very interesting!

The absence of water or wetness is dryness. If we accept wetness we accept dryness but it does not mean that neither of these things exist. Does it?

I would agree that these two a re mutually exclusive.
Wetness is in, dryness is out.
Light is in, darkness is out.
They do not negate each other they are mutually exclusive.

I think the universe is safe again!

U call something dark when it absorb all wavelength of light which currently falls on it.....thus darkness does not exist, it's only the absence of light.

ur question is getting too twisty

To the human eye, darkness is the lack of visible EM radiation (i.e. 400 to 700nm) it does not mean that nothing is there...... there could be radio waves, infra-red, ultra-violet and x-rays and all other sorts of non-human visible wave present.

Light (as we see it) means the presence of visible EM radiation in the form of photons. The sun also delivers EM radiation in the form of UV-A and UV-B, which we cannot see, but we can certainly feel when we get sunburnt.

Simply put....

Darkness = Lack of Photons in the visible spectrum.

Light = Presence of Photons within the visible spectrum.

Though no one can prove or disprove God's existence, our history reveals the unmistakable footprints of something greater than man.
