Seriously though, I consider respect an essential element of a loving romantic relationship, and how can I possibly respect somebody who respects themself enough to want an exclusive relationship without remaining faithful to that commitment?

I guess what you call it depends on your cultural background. In the African culture, men fall in love with and marry more than one woman and it is allowed. In the West, it is called bigamy, in Africa, it is simply polygamy. It is possible for a man to love two women at the same time, and vice versa. The only thing is that society in general does not permit or accept this, basically due to jelousy. But, I can bet my life, there are many people out there who love more than one person right now, only they cannot practice it openly, hence cheating!

Yes you can love 2 ladies at the same time, I think the loves them both in different ways. I don't think he is fully satisfied with either one them because it is taking 2 women to give him what he needs, when he should just take time to find that one woman that will give him everything he needs.

Yes, it's called polyamory to be in love with more than one person at a time. (to idiot # 1, bigamy is MARRYING two people at once).

I assume that, contrary to social opinion, monogamy isn't normal for all people. Given the 60% of males and 40% of females that will cheat during a relationship, this isn't just a wild statement. Unfortunately, society isn't accomodating to those who want to be both honest and are not naturally monogamous. Open relationships are seriously frowned upon.

Polyamory isn't easy to get to work, even when you have people who agree to it in principle. It takes a LOT of communication continuing during the relationship, utter honesty with your partners and yourself, and an ability to handle your own emotions like jealousy and new relationship energy, but if you all put forth that effort it's is extremely rewarding.

Do some research into polyamory. There are many of us out here.

Well, hmmmmm....no! He can be in love one and lust for the other. He can love two ladies but not in love with two ladies at the same time. When you're in love with someone there is no room for any one else. No matter how cute the other person look, the amount of money they have, the places they goes, the clothes and cars they have....in love doesn't care about things. Just about what that one person turly care about you and makes you feel good about yourself.
