vaio laptops, apart from being very expensive are impossible to upgrade
as with all laptops the only 2 components that can be upgraded on a laptop are the hard drive and ram(memory)
the only speed upgrade you could do is obviously the memory, but this would dramatically improve your laptops performance
also there are faster hard drives avalible than the standard 5200rpm models used in laptops
there are 7200rpm models avalible which would speed up data access, thus again increasing your laptops performance
good luck

Laptops are difficult to upgrade. You can expand the RAM and install larger, faster hard drives but that is about as far as you can go. If you don't require your machine to be portable then it is much better to go for a desktop as they are easily upgraded in terms graphics/sound cards, RAM, motherboards, HD. Also, for the cost of a top end Viao you could have a much higher spec desktop

All laptops are hard to upgrade. You can add more RAM to speed program access. The other possibility can be to increase hard drive to a bigger one or faster harddrive. You can add an adapter for wireless 802.11 n to speed your internet surfing. I think thats all the possibilities for now. I heard that ASUS new laptops will have a separate video card that can be attached to the laptop externally so will give extra life to your laptop. It still is underdevelopment. It will help those gamers out there.

Unless you are an expert only ram and hard drive upgrades are recommended. If you decide to upgrade your ram go to the following link, http://www.crucial.com/uk they can do an on line check which will determine which ram your motherboard supports. They will recommend the optimum amount. You can order on line and although they are not the cheapest it is worth paying for good ram. They guarantee compatibility with your motherboard and give an excellent warranty. I have used them many times and always been satisfied. Hope this helps.

For laptops, you can only upgrade the memory. Tinkering with the other stuff could potentially lead to disastrous results, unless you are a laptop technician.
