when i get songs from limewire they always skip and when i watch short clips on utube they skip too. does anyone know why?

It could be your sound and video cards both but that seems unlikely. I would suggest that you have a problem with the player you are using (Real Player; Windows Media; Win Amp; etc) or you may need to upgrade your RAM to handle the file size.

You hardly gave enough information to give one best answer.
I would give you computer a complete virus and adware scan. Close all unneeded windows and programs you are running.
And last, don't use Limewire/kazaa. You're begging to get sued and virus infected.

I would be more inclined to think that it is the drivers for either your video card or sound card
Try updating them and see what happens

You have some player problem , go to http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ download that player its best player out there for video :) and has good codecs...
