Definitely! When you think about it, it's kinda like a cycle. You have your pop in the beginning of a decade, then you have your mid-decade postpop backlash music (mediocre crap), then in the late decade-pop seems to come back bigger that ever.

I think that alternative music will be really popular very soon becuase that is what a lot of ppl (especially teenagers like me) are listening to. I also think that pop isnt really out of the for good because a lot of ppl still like it! i guess ppl just listen to whta the ppl play on the radio.

pop will never fade away as long as there's technicians scouting for whats new in the market. emo and mellow rock seems to be the apparent big things now...i'm personally waiting for something extreme. Polka anyone?

pop is actually short for "popular" and often refers to "contemporary hit" music-mainly, anything that is popular at the time. any song that is frequently purchased, played on the radio and/or becomes significant in popular culture is "pop". in other words, technically anything that everybody is buying and listening to is popular.

Pop is technically "popular" so yeah, I think it will. Probably mixed with another category that's "in" at the time (e.g. rock, indie, alternative, punk, etc...)
