Actually probably not and I am somewhat surprised in the academic world this would come up as an option. One of the successes of the student visa program (among others) is that it is a foreign exchange program. It is supposed to allow someone from another country to visit and learn with Americans. They then go home and after a few years and take power (as the elite) in their own county. They will then make policy decisions based on real experiences with America and not by just judging what they hear on some local news broadcast.

This has had its failures also but you cant throw out a successful program for a few cases of failure.

I think that equating the two is a bit of a stretch. Being a visiting student does not make you more or less predisposed to mental illness, which is what it takes to come unhinged like this nutjob.

Making the assumption that the student visa program is full of mass murderers is a bit of a stretch, isn't it?

no let them learn all our secrets and go back to China to beat us in the next war. Many of the Islamic terrorists get student visas as well.

Maybe just a slightly paranoid overreaction there...other shooters/bombers have been white suburban or rural American males, ya think we ought to round them up too?

This is an excellent idea and will solve the problem since Americans students never kill American students.
