Hi

i have recently started a new pill (2weeks ago) and have been getting a few spots and was wondering if this could be down to my new pill? Is this common and will it settle down in time? Other than this I have no other side effects at all.

Any advise would be great, thanks

Yes, spotting is common when trying to adjust to the pill. It should be starting to calm down pretty soon. It can take the body about 3 months to adjust to being on the pill. I would also recommend double checking with your dr to be on the safe side to see what they say.

When I first started on the pill I got a few spots and over a few months this settled down as my body got used to the pill. if your spots don't calm down in the next few months you should ask to go on another pill and see if this helps but you should be fine!

Yes, its just a bit of a hormone surge like when you start puberty. It will settle fairly rapidly, usually between 3 and 4 months. If it carries on for longer than 6 months, then you should go back to your GP. Not every pill suits every person, and it may be that this one isn't best for you.

Hope it sorts out soon.

sokokl is right, 3 months is adjustment time for you body when starting the pill. Read theleaflet that came with the pill for side effects. Usually spotting, bloating, nasua and headaches are the main side effects of most pills.
But everone is different

yes it can take sometime for your body to adjust to a new 'pill' as different pills have differnt levels of drugs/hormones/etc etc in them. it should settle down in time, but if it doesnt please go back to you local medical provider..

Not if you hold it firmly between your knees during sex.
