I got to thinkin and police authorities are trying to see if the 2 crimes that happened at VT were committed by the same person. Well....my theory is....what if they are? I'm thinkin that whoever did this did a very smart thing (no i'm not crazy, it's basic magic.... a good diversion). Say he did do the first shooting (2 victims) then the suspect himself called 911 and reported the shots fired and while officers were over there securing the scene he went on the rampage. Because I haven't heard anything on any of the news chanels in regards to the first 911 caller being male or female. Just a theory...any thoughts?

I work at a campus police department and we were all discussing the possibilities.

No one seems to have it sorted out yet. just speculation at this point, something the situation doesn't need.

The Virginia Tech President was just being interviewed by CNN's John Roberts. He said that he thinks that it's the same gunman. However, I think he was being ridiculous respondingt to the question why the Campus took over 2 hours to notify the stdents by saying the Campus believed the killing was over a domestic problem and that the campus had thought they have contained the problem by concentrating on that building. None could be stupid enough to think that the problem was contained without the killer caught! Kind of stupid answer from that University's President as the killer was still on the loose, and commonsense would have struck fear of the gunman running around with a loaded gun, and could easily cause danger and harm for those beyond the specific 'dorm' building. The President of that university sure isn't farsighted with his thinking!

You could be right. It's just a scary thought anymore that your kids are not safe in school no matter what the age group is. I will never understand why someone needs to this kind of thing, but then it is not up to me to decide why a person like this would do such a thing. My son's school had a bomb threat back when he was in middle school we live out in the country and I thought this can't be right not here-maybe in the city-that was the longest and hardest drive I have ever had to make I didn't know what I was going to find that day lucky for everyone in our area-the kid was just pulling a prank because he didn't study for his test. Some joke huh. Sorry if I got off the subject just a tad

This stuff is so scary and out of countrol! My kids school district has had over 15 bomb threats this year alone between the middle school and high school! These kids think this stuff is funny but it is so not! Why are our kids no longer safe?Who can we blame? The parents--well I hope not because I've done everything I can to raise 2 polite, respectful, young men! i'm afraid to send them to school today--we never had bomb threats until Columbine happened! This incident makes me even more scared--why didn't the college go on lockdown? All those deaths may have been prevented! What is this world coming to?

If it was the same person, then he threatened to kill anyone who reported him or tried to do something during the two hours between the shootings. Or he killed every eye witness. It had to be 2 people. And the other person is running around free right now!

Well, whatever it turns out to be, V-Tech is going to be in a world of trouble for taking so long to get the word out that there was an armed person on campus. I see law suits in the near future.
But your theory makes sense.

Sounds like a good story line for an upcoming mini-series. Get the script writing done now, you could be rich.

I think that this theory is wrong. No one will alert the police before attempting a second crime !!

I think the college (along with all schools) should have an emergency reaction plan, rather than waiting two hours to notify students.
