It is true that science and technology has allowed us to progress as a speicies. Medicine has allowed us to extend our lives considerably. Advances in science and technology has allowed us to live much more comfortably than our ancestors did.

Although these are true, we have to remember that science and technology also gave us the power to wipe out our entire race.. 11 times over. It also gave us the problems we face today. Industrialization has brought about poverty, a widening gap between the rich and the poor, and also Global Warming.

In the future, science and technology may be helpful in solving the answers to our problems, but we must also use other means that our at our disposal. Not everything can be solved with gadgets and gizmos. There is also the human factor: morals and ethics. Science and technology must be guided by principles in order to serve mankind and create a better world. We have to guide science and tech so that they do not create problems, problems that were created by their misuse in the first place.

Yes, clearly progress is measurable on many important fronts despite some let downs in other areas. However, science and technology are only a minor part and predictable result of the more important social movement in the last several hundred years which is pushing us in such exponentially new directions. It is the increasing discovery of freedom around the world, ie -- individuals who run their own lives and plan their own economic futures, people who create and keep the fruits of their efforts, justice and law, the understanding of liberalism and tolerance between people. To the extent that people around the globe continue to throw away their old world habits that dehumanize and collectivize them, and embrace the liberalism that has spawned science, technology, entertainment, environmental understanding etc., the better off the future will be. Individuals who are free to improve their lives always strive to do so, this is where a better world will come from.

Good question... STAR

Science and technology can solve many of the problems provided its efforts are directed properly with due priorities.... we being what we are, the priorities are never right and as a result, progress in science and technology is actually causing more problems than it is solving.

Yes we will see a better world, you might think we have it horrible now but people 100 years ago had it alot worse, you just think its bad because all you hear is bad things on the news which in comparison dwarfs many things that were happening 100 years ago such as, blacks being oppressed in the south, the world were all about to break out in war, the fear of getting sick because you could die. People were alot worse off and all we worry about today is OMGz terrorist might get me, only though there has only been ONE terrorist attack on the U.S. (9/11) which you shouldn't even be scared because its very unlikely it does happen to you.

philosophical speaking no.
the world is never better or worser.
u see a perfect world is impossiblity , perfection signifies no action. one who acts is striving for perfection and therefore is not perfect.
on account of a better world we can have a better world physically but when we drive physical problems off some other problem will come in.
for example people in sahara and california both have problems though they are not the same .
the problem for a child may be his candy and the professor his equation, how can u say which one is a bigger problem?
but yes we can have more physical comfort and probably socail order in days to come .atleast we all hope so!

The world is perfect now, but one must see it through the "single eye" of a righteous man. The righteous man sees all things as God. "All this is God". As more and more people "see" and affirm perfection God will manifest perfection through Science & technology.
