I often use what is known as Hathor's Mirror, which is a black mirror... Originally it was made from polished obsidian.. They are know as the window to the soul... Mirrors can be set up, in such a way that you can look into another realm... If this is done correctly, the other side also has a window into our realm ...I don't hold anything toward modern superstition, nor anything that has been adapted from lore and Hollywood has got hold of it and bastardised it... Love and Light .. BB.. )O(

A mirror reflects reality, that is why for the Chinese, it is sincerity, and for the Buddhists it is the soul in a state of purity. If it scares it is because showing the soul is showing the unknown, the deep and the unconscious, and that frightens. Think of the superstition about breaking mirrors, it may symbolize the consequences when you "break" your soul/spirit/mind .

In a mirror left is right and right is left, on the one hand is like being a different world on the other it is a reversed version of our world . The reversed world is the world of gods, fairy-tales and spirits. There is a custom of covering all mirrors in the house when somebody dies, so that the gate to the dead remains closed and the dead person cannot come back to this world. These are some reasons why mirrors are seen as gates, and that is why they are scarry.

Well, when we look into mirrors, we wonder if the world would be different if we could use mirrors to enter an alternate Earth. There has been alot of mystery with the mirror, wondering what glass it is made out of,(Or is that just me?) if you really think about it, someone will come up with a logical explanation eventually.

I guess it is because there is a lot of mystery surrounding mirrors. They are he only still and flat, properly reflective surface we know- and there's a lot of folklore etc that we associate them with i.e. breaking them gives us 7yrs bad luck.
-I don't like them because I have this fear of looking into it and not seeing myself staring back, or seeing something in it which I cannot see in the room. As a mirror cannot lie, it would have to be there, but that would be a pretty scary thing- especially if there was something right behind me!
-A mirror pointed towards a door of window reflects good energies back out of the room, but allows in bad. I guess this is a kind of scary thought!
-When you look in the mirror, you see who you really are. Sometimes realising that you're not as good as you thought, or that you want to be different, is the scariest thing ever!
-We also are told that the Fey are scared of large mirrors. I guess that's related somehow.
-Seeing yourself change, develop, or get old is a harsh truth. A mirror will allow us to see those extra lines and wrinkles! Or those pimples indeed!

But I guess, unless you have the same fears I do, that mirrors themselves are not exactly scary at all! In love and light, Tasha x

The only thing scary to me about mirrors is for years, every time I look in the mirror, it's not me looking back. No, it's not a reflection of me looking back either. It's like someone else is looking back through my own eyes.

They reflect the image LOL no, sometimes if you look at the mirrors you MIGHT see a spirit ex: Bloody Mary, La Llorona and a lot of others. Of course I don't believe that unless your some sort of witch you look at your reflection and you scare the crap out of you.
no I don't think there's anything scary about mirrors

Some people believe that with a mirror and a clear mind, not obstructed by everyday thoughts, and bias to skepticism's you can see ghosts, other dimensions and possibly the future. However I do not agree.

It's what you don't see in the mirror that can be scary.

the scariest things about mirrors is that they tell the truth without being biased by love or affection............ so if you are not really pretty dont expect da mirror to give you a flattering reflection
