A nice bottle of bubbly (not yr cheap cr.p) . If they've been married 30 years then they need it to make each other look a bit blurred!.

I think the suggestion of a newspaper dated the day they were married is a really good one. I did this for my husband's uncle & aunt some years ago and they seemed genuinely appreciative.
Remember, after thirty years they have probably bought, used and thrown away a lifetime's worth of "stuff" so the gift can be something totally useless but interesting and not too personal (like jewellery would be).
The newspapers come in a lovely box and are in mint condition so they really do look like a nice gift...
They are readily available on the Net (google "Vintage Newspapers") and you are a bit short of time...

Work together on this one ... they will LOVE it!
Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two, they, family and friends would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

Make a photo album or scrap book. Start the front out with pictures of the two of them when they were dating and at the start of their marriage. Add their wedding photo too! Then add pictures from then til now. Include pictures of you (and any other siblings you may have). If you have other siblings, get them involved too and make it a present from all of you. You could add baby photos of you (and siblings if you have any) with your parents and little things, like a copy of your hand prints from when you were born. Add photos of anything they have accomplished, such as a college degree or any special award they have gotten. Hope this helped!

Assuming you and the boyfriend are giving a joint gift?
He should know what their likes are and after 2 yrs you should too.
This Link will give you some ideas for shopping locally since you don't have much time to get them a gift.

Get your boyfriend to help you with this - buy a nice photo albumn then make an albumn up of photos of them - (if they dont already have them - do they just have photos chucked in the attic in a box somewhere?) choose the best ones and make a nice albumn for them - they'll love looking through it!!!
