you rode the little school bus to school didn't you. If your wife is even half as dumb as you then NO you can not have your wife for a 2 day trip without your 14&11 year old kids. sure can, if you trust your kids being alone with or without a babysitter. People do it all the time as long as one of the kids is pretty responsible and usually over 12. Have fun

Yes friend you are only 6 to 8 years away from completing your 'apprenticeship' ~ you are fortunate to only have 2 children stay there for them the rewards are well worth the compromise.
i had six children i KNOW what you are going through. Believe it or not they DO need you.
