i have been talking to someone via email. i did some work for him and he payed me with a cheque which i received through the post this morning.

im not sure if its real or fake. i dont want to just go to bank and cash it as i dont want to feel stupid when i go to cash it and they tell me it isnt a real cheque.

is there any way i can find out if the cheque is real or not instead of going to cash it first.

this cheque has come from another country so thats why i cant tell.

i know there are alot of scams in the world but have to take in concideration that this might be a real cheque and until then id like it if people wouldnt just tell me its a scam. i just want to know how can i find out if its real or fake?

It's tough. There is alot of scams. The only true way is to go to a bank.

Don't delay, Take it to the bank. Businesses do thus all the time, and of course some 'bounce' but if you don't take it to the bank, it may as well be fake
