I am a straight man. I am thinking about wearing some opaque tights under my jeans, partly to keep warm but also because they look so good on women.There see to be quite a lot of tights marketed at men these days, such as Gerbe:

Some of the brands aimed at women seem good also. Would women find this really strange? Should I try them?

You should wear it if you want to. It does keep you warm. i wear it, but am a lady.
Just as long as no one see's the tights, especially when you bend down.
and make sure the tights are not too thin, otherwise people can tell these are women tights.
And i wouldnt tell anyone that your wearing tights either.
You might have a new nickname if you do tell them. even though your straight.
If i went out with a man who wore tights, i would laugh, but only for first time i see it.
i wouldnt really bother afterwards, whether they wearing tights or not. I wouldnt tease or anything.

I say do whatever makes you happy. Life is short... why worry about what everyone else thinks! As a woman, I don't find anything strange about wanting to add a bit more warmth under jeans for a guy, but maybe you shouldn't mention wanting to wear them because of how they look on women too. That part strikes me as a bit more strange. But hey man... like I said.. do what makes you happy!

If you're just doing it to stay warm, then no I wouldn't find it strange at all. If you're doing it for any other reason, it does seem a bit cross dresser-ish, but if that's your thing, do it. Whatever you're comfortable with is fine, just be aware that if a woman you're dating finds out about it she may be a bit uncomfortable with the thought.
They're not too expensive, so just get one pair and see how you like it. You can get more if you like it, and if not you only wasted a few bucks.

To paraphrase road safety compaigns, "Look carefully both ways before you cross-dress."
If you are concerned with the cold, get Long John. Women with shapely shaven legs look even better in tights. Women whose legs are not up to it wear trousers. You seem to suggest that you are partly motivated by their appearance. Does this mean you want to be seen in them? Are you sure your legs are up to it?
With the best will in the world, anyone who sees you in tights (unless you are either on stage or saving the world), will make assumptions about your gender identity that may be very difficult to reverse.
