Wow! I feel so old! I'll try to help, sweetie.
If you're sixteen, you'll have "career days" sponsored by your schools. Attend as many lectures (classes?) as you can, and see what interests you. In addition, your school's academics counselor should be able to tell you where you can access a skills test. It's sort of like a psychological profile. When you're done, it'll tell you what career paths are best for you.
Don't worry that everybody else seems to be ahead of you. I can practically guarantee that they're concerned, too. Remember, we all develop at different rates.
Good luck, hon.

Dont fret!
You are only 16 theres no need to know exactly whats ahead...
Start thinking about colleges and bringing up your grades in high school so you are better prepared and ready for college.
These days you need a college degree to do anything, especially if you are female! Even a Bachelors degree is not enough anymore, more and more businesses are wanting masters.
You may not enjoy school now but college is def better! Be prepared to work hard though, and put off massive partying in your first year or your grades will suffer!
You do not need to figure out exactly what major you want now, you can do a year of gen ed courses and a few other extra courses to see what you like such as sociology, psychology, anthropology or whatever you want and then decide from there.
Dont forget to have fun though because life after college blows!
Good luck!

Don't worry about what other people are doing. You just worry about what you need to do for you. Life is not a competition. And if you try to make it a competition you'll drive yourself crazy. Trust me I know. It's all nice that your friends already know what they're going to do in the future, but everyone is different. I didn't know what I was going to do with myself until I was 19. Sometimes it takes people way into their 30's to find out. Most likely what your friends have planned they won't stick to it because they are young and from now to then a lot can happend to mess their plans up. You just need to find out what you wanna do and go for it. Just remember to be focused on your life and not everyones around you. Good luck!

Believe in yourself. Our life is like a butterflies. We are the caterpillar and still searching for our dream and goal in lfe. Then there's the cocoon where it's where we are aiming for that dream but haven't got to it yet because there are obstacles we have to pass and we push so hard at that cocoon. It will crack but won't break open immediatly and then when we do we have reached our life's goal. We are the big beautiful butterfly but you are still the caterpillar but trying to make that cocoon. Just think of it in that way.
Don't rush this desicion it is a very big desicion. Still being 16 try to leave your options open as much as possible until it just comes down to talent and liking and combine the two. And there are always jobs adviser's.

Its a good idea to start getting serious about your future. you can start by taking an assessment on what your best suited for, and if that doesnt get you pointed in some direction, take the prerequisits in college and focus at that time on what you'd be happy doing. You might be like me, no one thing suits me enough to do all of my life, and that makes it tough to try to make up your mind. You don't have to stick to just one thing.

These days it's not uncommon for people to change careers several times in their lives. Instead of biting your fingernails worrying about not knowing exactly what you're going to be, just get out there and do the things you love. Volunteer, join clubs, meet people and get excited about life. You might just find out what you wanted to do while having fun.

do u mean for a career?
take a course till u decide what you want to do, so that you have something to fall back on, and are not left on the welfare line, unless of course that's what you want?
