I had this in both my first and second pregnancy. In my first I did have a miscarriage, and it was just a case of waiting for it to happen (this was at 8 weeks) I don't know what happens if it is later on in the pregnancy.
In my second pregnancy there was nothing wrong and I had a healthy baby girl, so it doesn't necessarily mean that anything is wrong. I hope this is the case for you, good luck.

I have experience of both outcomes.
I lost my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies at around 12 weeks and had to have d & c's with both, however these were both 6+ years ago and I think more recently d & c's are given less due to the damage they can cause, I think the preference now is to see if your body can miscarry naturally if at all possible.
I am now on my 5th pregnancy and had several days of brown spotting at around 7 weeks, but I am now 14weeks pregnant with a healthy baby.
Brown discharge (old blood) in pregnancy is extremely common and is often not a problem if it is the only symptom.
Best of luck for your scan on Thursday.

It happened to me too, when I was around 6 weeks, also. The scan confirmed the pregnancy and I was put on rest for 2 weeks. I did have some pain, however and continued bleeding (just a few spots) for some more days, but eventually it went away and now I am almost 7 months pregnant with a little girl. Take heart! Don't despair.

Brown discharge is common and not something to worry about-- it usually results from something along the lines of having an exam, having sex, ect. because the cervix holds more blood and bruises, bleeds more readily during pregnancy.
Bright red discharge is, however, something to worry about, because this indicates that something inside is actively and more profusely bleeding.
If you are having a miscarrige you will probably know it because the body goes through the same motions to expel the fetus as it does when in labor.

It's hard to say. Sometimes, in early pregnancy a woman will see have a brown discharge which is normal. I have had 2 miscarriages (one at 7 weeks and one at 9 weeks). Both started with a brown discharge which eventually led to bright red blood. If you are not experiencing any cramps, then I think you will be OK.. However, if it is a miscarriage, try not to be too upset. Think of it as a blessing in disguise. You wouldn't want a malformed or retarded child. It's God's way of correcting his mistake. Try again in a couple of months. I became pregnant immediately after my second miscarriage. My son will be celebrating his 7th birthday at the end of this month.
Good luck and God bless you!

The only bad outcome is if they find that the pregnancy is not viable (the embryo is dead). At that time they will schedule a D&C to clear out your uterus, or else you can get infected. You can end up with a healthy baby even if you have discharge, so long as the embryo and fetus are alive.

Well this has happened to me and my sister. When I got checked I found out that the pregnancy wasnt viable and I had a dnc it wasnt fun but when I found out what could have happened if I hadent had it done... Well I that was 5 yrs ago and I now have 2 beutiful children[3sisiyrs & 8 mnths]. When it happened to my sister they said that it was because the baby was growing to fast for her body. The doctor just told her to take it easy, and drink lots of water. Her daughter is now 4mnths old and the cutest thing you will ever see.

If you are far along then you should be very careful, because you could hemhorrage if you have a miscarriage very late. My mom had a miscarriage at about three months and she almost died of blood loss.
But my sister spotted during all three of her pregnancies and thought she wqas going to miscarry, but it was fine. Good luck! :)

I think having spotting in pregnancy is quite common nowadays. You might be weak for your health.
Not to worry that much, you got to maintain a happy lifestyle if not you r actually also stressing the baby in you.
Good Luck.. Hope that all will turn out well for you and your little baby. :)
