When the sun goes down there is a sudden increase in melatonin in the brain. This leads to sleepiness. Adults adjust the melatonin by leaving bright lights on and by having a nightly routine. Babies can get very tired with the rush of melatonin and so your baby might just want to go to bed.

Babies with colic usually have a set time in which they start crying. It's usually in the evening. Try changing formula, baby may have a protein sensitivity. Infamil Gentle Ease is great. It worked for me.

That's probably colic. For some unknown reason most colicky babies begin fussing in the evening and are feeling better the rest of the day.

I would say that it might be due to colic or maybe your baby is just getting cranky during the evening.
I think its better that you pay full attention to your baby about it.
