Here are some tips I got from friends:
(we have the same issue, hahah!)
Avoid light-colored bottoms.
Black tops or bottoms would really help to make you look slimmer.
Wear dress (or tops) that accentuates the line below your busts.
Avoid multi-dressing (you know, dressing up in many layers) and ruffles.

Wear dark pants or bottoms with no pockets or pleats. Pair this with similar colored top but different shade. This is what I do for a slimming effect. I'm 20 pounds heavier than you and 3 inches smaller.
Sample:
brown pants and mocha top (add a dangling earring or gold necklace / chain)
navy blue bermuda shorts and light blue shirt (add beaded bracelets or summery necklace)
You can also wear plain colors, avoid big and distracting prints. Do not wear too clingy or too loose clothes. Just pick the right size. For me, I don't wear pants that are too tight because of muffin top. I wear a size 12 pants.
Also, you can be fashionable just by wearing accessories.

Avoid tank tops. Denim capris look good on tall people and are slimming, with high heels.
