You do not get in the middle of it...You tell them both, you love them as friends and just because they hate each other, that isnt your problem...Also tell them if they have bad things to say about each other, to keep it to themselves....

Well i've found, from experience, that not doing anything is the best way to handle it. If you try to interfere it could be turned toward you. From what i've seen it is better to let them work their problems out on their own. If the question means that you need to know how to cope with just hearing it, then just seperate yourself from the situation. It will be in your best interest to not get involved, but also let them know that it bothers you. Just talk to them seperately or when everything is calm.

Depends how old they are. You can try telling the to grow up and knock it off. Or you can spend time with each of them but no together. Make it known that you intend to be friends with the both of them and they need to deal with this fact. That they are NOT to put you in the middle of there pettiness. That you will not take sides and that they really need to deal with there issues with each other in a healthy adult manner... its called talking.

I usually tell them both I don't want to know about their problems w each other, and not to discuss it with me . I also refuse to take sides(unless I witnessed what went wrong, therefore being able to form my own opinion) if they insist on talking smack ive told them to get back to me when they've grown up. I'm too old to deal wthat sh*t, and would rather put my energy into my own life

Find time for each separately. My experience is: it's not worth trying to make them get along, as it only brings you headache, and it doesn't work

If Both of them do not like each-other it is because of their relationship. Do not get involved as it will lead to misinterpretation. respect their privacy. but tell them that you care for them both and that they should talk things out. if this doesn't work out, you should understand that it is their life and their choice matters the most.

Just don't hang out with them at the same time. Keep the friendships very separate.

thats hard what if it came to the point that they would let you choose between them . opposites attract but not always. just be patient and listen to their arguments if they get along then thats better they should compromise

Tell them that you care for them both, and you do not want to get caught up in their problems. Tell them that if they respect you, they will understand.
