Because the government will not do there job and ban them. Screw the right to bear arms. It,s not 1776 anymore and automatic weapons weren't around back then.Nobody needs them and stupidity like yesterday would stop. But I guess enough innocent people haven't been murdered for our lazy representatives to do anything about it.

Because no matter how many times it's tried, gun control ALWAYS results in an increase in the number of illegal firearms. Look at the cities that have banned guns and you will find the highest incidents of gun-related crimes. This is why Washington, D.C. (where handguns are illegal) can be the murder capital of the U.S., and places where firearms and carry permits ARE allowed have the lowest incidents of gun-related crimes.

EVERY TIME. Look at the statistics, ALL of them, not just the ones that agree with your point of view.

Also, because the media hates guns, you never hear about when firearms are used to SAVE people or to help people, but only when they're used to hurt or kill people.

Because the right to bear arms is written into the American constitution.I was a member of a rifle club for London Transport and the keeping of your weapon was very strict.Gun locker bolted to floor, breech block to be kept separate and the amo.The trouble was I knew lots of people had shotguns laying around in there houses and it seemed to me that no one seemed to bother. This was about 15 years ago and I don't know what the situation is now.

guns are just like drugs when it comes to getting them you can buy one from just about anyone now and on every street corner and they are being passed around from people to people like they are toys and candy and its not the dealers of guns that are at fault either as too many guns have found thier way into gang members hands and get passed around so others can use them for reasons they were not ment to be...You know its bad when cops dont even have enough or the right kind of fire power to stop these kids with auto wepons now and they half to rely on military to suport them with new and diffrent kind of high power wepons just to hang with whats on the streets..

There are too many guns in the world. If it's supposed to be difficult to get hold of a gun then why are there so many (making it easy for criminals to acquire them).

Because our constitution gives us the right to bear arms. They included this because our founding fathers wanted to enable us to protect ourselves from corrupt governments who wanted to take away our right to govern ourselves. Also, that is why we have the right to have militias. It's not a perfect system, there are abuses, but as soon as a government wants to take away the everyday people's right to protect themselves, then the government should be suspect.
