Do you think men take much notice of the shoes women wear, or vice versa?

I think that women are very fashion conscious and they always notice everything about what everyone is wearing in general. Although, for the most part I don't think that most men care what a woman is wearing (hell most of them are just thinking what she would look like with everything off).

I know that the only two times that I notice anything that a woman is wearing is when I'm trying to get points for being a gentleman or when she is wearing something that is way outside of the box (so to speak).

Men who like legs notice shoes, especially sexy styles.
Women can tell a lot about a man by the kind of shoes he wears. Expensive and stylish or boring.
I'd say both sexes look at the shoes.

Men do notice and usually don't care.
Vans or Converse All-Star sneakers look great with jeans.
High heels are awesome, especially if they show off the arches.
Open toed shoes, only if you have cute feet. If your toes are nasty, don't wear em, or wear pantyhose. It hides the flaws.
A lot of males love women's feet. I catch them noticing all the time.
If you want to be sure if a guy is noticing your shoes, wear a pair of shoes without socks and dangle them. Don't take em off, just dangle them. Secretly watch and you'll get your answer.

I can only answer this from a mans pov.

- No, i do not really notice "the shoes" but i do notice the "full picture". If the shoes clash, or stand out, yes, then i`ll notice.

- No, because for me, the things i look at first are the eyes. If the eyes are too cold / wrong - then the rest isn`t interesting.
If the eyes are 'good' - then i`ll see the rest of the picture.

I do not think that the shoes notice the men.

Men rarely see the pieces in our outfits, they see the entire ensemble. If you have put in some extra effort, they might say "Wow! you look nice!"

We of course notice their shoes - and pants, and belt and shirt and if they shaved or combed their hair and .... you get the picture. Its because we are accustomed to looking for details of our appearance.
