If we blame all these things, we don't have to accept responsibility, ourselves!
Nevertheless, scurrilous and suggestive "family hour" TV shows, and violent games, and the rap crap should be banned!

Society looks for a easy answer-and a easy solution. A quick 1-2 step fix to solve these problems such as school shootings.
Guess what people? You will NEVER solve the problem. You will NEVER end the problem. There will always be mass shootings in schools and other places no matter what you do. Ban all the guns you want, put up metal detectors on every door at every school. It wont stop anything. It wont even slow it down. Someone crazy enough to do this stuff isnt gonna give a hoot if some little old lady is running a metal detector at the door of their school or if its illegal for them to own a gun.

It is not the tv stations, radio stations, recording artists, actors, actresses, athletes, video game and movie makers job to raise our kids. Schools can only do but so much. Parents have to start being held accountable for how they raise their children and the subsequent actions of those children. At Columbine, these kids were showing up with AK's under trenchcoats (the "Trenchcoat Mafia" as they were known at school) This kind of behavior does not occur overnight. In my opinion their parents were either blind to what their children were doing or just didn't care or chose to ignore it thinking they would "grow out of it" rather than acknowlegding that there was a serious problem. Because of this precious young lives were lost including the lives of their own children. They should go to jail!! Start holding parents accountable. Then maybe children would be raised with the love, attention, guidance, structure and discipline they so desperately need and are entitled to.

You can't blame all the parents when the kids do not want to be told what to do, and as a result they run off to other outlets available to them and these outlets do not teach or provide the basic care and love human beings need to make good decisions especially when dealing with other human beings.
Yes, more parents today are giving up because they lack the skills and support of parenting and that is most unfortunate, but these outlets can be a destructive tool to the uncared for.
We are all in this together.

I like this question. I think that the only people that blame t.v., video games, rap music, and many other things is that no one especially parents want to blame anything on themselves and they dont want to blame it on their kids so they blame it on everything else and when that happens this country gets even more chaotic than it was before and it will keep doing that until people start manning up to their problems and frustrations and accidents so yeah i do think you are right about this it is pretty messed up

Unfortunately it is called "freedom of speech". There is nothing we can do about it on a society level.
But we can do something about it personally. It all starts in the home. And it is called "family values", such as parenting, and setting a good example for your children, and supervising what they see on T.V., Internet, rap music, and video games.
Don't know why you gave hitler (may his name be wiped out) as an example. T.V. at that time was censored on many levels, and video, and rap music was not even around at that time.

Imagine a fire that is under control, know imagine tossing gas all over the place and leading the fire to it what happens.
Man is imperfect as imperfect people some people will do things like that but video games and rap and tv just tell them that it is common that it is no big deal so they are more likely to act on those feelings.

A lot of people blame everything outside of themselves for all their problems. Why do you think the Virginia Tech kid blew away teachers and students he did not even know? Its because in his twisted version of reality, They Were Responsible For All His Problems and They Deserved To Be Blown Away!!
How many people Do you Know Blame Everything and Everyone for his/her misery? Give him/her a couple guns, grenades even and he just might outdo this VT kid's record!

The greater bulk of society's problems are blamed on friviolities by people who are NOT profiting from such wonders like video games or hot TV shows.
Sorry: can't defend Rap: too many "thuggas" out there in prison because they brought the rap songs to life--and ended other's.

People play video games all over the world and the recent virginia tech shooting might have something to do with playing video games and then doing it in real life. It could be but then love also could be the reason.
