I can't tolerate purple and red together - for me it is just not right

I think it depends on the brightness or dakness of the color. My dad says the best way to know if colors match is to look for them in nature. I once was wearing brown and green and my sis said i wasn't matching, but my dad insisted that they match because trees are green and brown! :) I found it a great idea. Regarding black and brown, I think it would be too dark but it the brown was light or orangish it would be ok. Like the color of tigers. I hate red with pink!

Any colours are good on some people and bad on others, its a question of what colour brings out the best in you, your hair, complexion etc, no general rule that some colours don't go they all do worn correctly with the right accessories

Pink and red. And yellow on most blondes drains the colour out of them. I have worn black and brown together and felt ok to go out in public. I think it depends on the shade of brown maybe?

Depends on your colouring...I cant wear black and navy....absolutely drains any colour out of my face. As for the old saying blue and green should never been seen. I dont agree with that...depends on what shades. Orange and red are a no no

I always thought the saying was "blue and green should never be seen, except on an Irish beauty queen."

Actually lots of colours shouldn't be mixed but when you see them they actually look quite good. Depends if you can carry it off.

If I wear a brown skirt and put on my black jacket I don't keep looking over my shoulder for the fashion police though. (Maybe I will Now! LOL)

It depends on how bright or how dark the 2 colors are. Also there are other things to consider like:what colors look good on that skin tone and what are the undertones in that color.I don't like the colors orange and red together

omg when selecting your question i was just thinking brown and black in my head too....how freaky...as much as people say black goes with everything i really feel it doesn't go with brown so i agree with you there. I also feels it doesnt go with electric blue either.

I always thought the saying was "purple and green should never be seen".

It's a disgusting combination, anyway.
