1. Its amazing to see how many people still think Ted Turner owns the Braves and/or TBS. Ted Turner, other than owning a decent chunk of TimeWarner stock (TimeWarner now owns TBS/the Braves), has no control over either entity.
2. The Braves games on TBS are front-loaded this year. In another month or so most of the remaining games will be on SportSouth (or whatever its called now) or FSN.
3. TBS will still be broadcasting some Braves games next year, but the number is going to be much smaller. It will be broadcasting more games between other teams, and the Divisional series playoffs also..

Ted Turner used to own both the Braves and TBS, so it made sense to televise the games. That contract is over at the end of this season, so TBS has a new contract to televise pretty much any games that aren`t already bought by other stations. Plus they just hired Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken Jr. to do their games next year.

When Ted Turner bought TBS, he needed inexpensive programming that would draw viewers. Thus, he went out and bought the Braves and Hawks in 1976 to provide cheap (since he owned them) programming for his network, accompanied by aggressive marketing. He chose Atlanta because that's where the network was based.

TBS is located in Atlanta. I'm just wondering why there have been more games on this year so far. Usually other programming is on when the Braves are playing.

"unlucky" blunders?? Please. And the decision on Posey replaced into so close that no one even argued it on the time. in elementary words the tremendous sluggish mo HD view printed that the tag replaced into utilized a microsecond earlier than Posey touching the bag. or maybe then, it in elementary words meant a runner on 2d. The Braves - no longer the umps - did not keep him there. do no longer make excuses for the Braves. They dedicated blunders and couldn't do some thing adversarial to Lincecum. Even then, it replaced into nevertheless as close as a activity will be. And it really is in elementary words activity one. for sure the Braves can win activity 2. yet so can the Giants.

Turner owns TBS. Turner owned the Braves also. Now I think it's a partial ownership with TimeWarner. But, it was because of ownership.

Ted Turner, the millionaire owner of the Braves, Ted's, and Tbs, brodcasts his team on his station. Its only fitting that the owner of the team and owner of the tv station brodcasts his games on it.
