What is a good way to hide a key inside your house so no one can find it, and, if they do find it, to keep them from being able to get/use it?

If you want to hide a key INSIDE your house, here are some thoughts:

I have hidden a key underneath a drawer. You need to glue a piece of Velcro to the underside of the drawer and glue the matching "teeth" to a key. It can stay there un-detected for a LOONG time!! There are LOTS of drawers in a house - pick one far away from the target - kitchen, bathroom, etc.

You can hollow out books in a book shelf. You can hide keys under, behind or over furniture, pictures or decorations. You can put a key in a container in the freezer (or you can freeze it in an ice cube!!).

If someone is looking THAT hard to find the key -- they probably know what it is for!!

This is one reason that I do not keep my most expensive jewelry in a jewelry box! I can't believe that people buy these huge standing jewelry boxes. It is like saying "Here is all my jewelry!! Please pick it up and take it away!!"

Good Luck!!

One of the best places I know of is to tape the key inside a dresser drawer. Pull the drawer open and feel up above the opening on the inside, then tape the key there. Use duct tape it works well.

I know it sounds crazy but tape (or magnet if you can) it to the back of fridge. Seriously who the hell would look there?! lol! Or maybe behnd the TV or DVD player? Inside the fridge? Inside a pair of shoes you never wear? Inside an old book cover? Roll it up in a pair of socks you dont wear? There are so many weird places you could put something like that.
