Are you asking if we think less if they are obese, or because they don't care about their appearance? The two don't actually go hand in hand. I know overweight people who take pride in their appearance, are always clean, and dressed nice. I also know skinny people who have dirty, stringy hair, look filthy, and spell like they haven't bathed in weeks.
A persons weight doesn't define who they are, or determine their character. It's sad that society judges so much on appearance.

No, I don't think less of someone if they are obese, but I believe that someone should care about their health. There's already too much carelessness in the world as it is.

Obesity is an illness. I don't know why anorexics are sympathized with and everyone feels bad for them but obese people are ridiculed. It doesn't mean they don't care about themselves...it means the have a disease and need help. And no I am not obese.

I have some obese friends, and no, I don't think less of them because they're heavy set. To discriminate against someone because of their weight is shallow.

If you are so shallow as to think a person's worth is all in how they appear, I'm not totally sure I would care to know you. I am overweight, and am considered very intelligent. My personality certainly does not fit with the stereotypical "fat" person.

No! I have a degree in dietetics and there numerous reasons to why one becomes obese! This does not mean that they r not aware of it or have feelings about it. But just because I have a degree in it does not mean that feelings started there. I have a heart and a human is a human....

Well, it all depends on the person for me. It is their prerogative whether or not they care about their health and appearance. It's mine to be a ***** and judge them on that or as a normal human being and wait to gauge their personality! :)

No. I've found that by being friends with people who are overweight, it tends to make them want to eat better and get in shape. so instead of judging them and blowing them off, why not make an effort to be a real friend!
