2004 chevy 5.3 vortec valves chattering?

doesn't chatter all the time, just hard acceleration above3000 rpm. no power loss that I can tell and it just started in last few weeks. I have 80,000 miles on truck

Could be an exaust leak.

Try using a fuel with a higher octane, or buy your fuel somewhere else.

i doubt what you are hearing is valve related, pull codes an see if you have any problems with mifires.....
