a force of 20 newtons moves an object along a line which forms an angle of 30degrees w/ the direction of the force. what is the component of the force along the line? What is the component of the force perpendicular to the line? How much work is done if the object is moved 8 m along the line?

20cos30 for the magnitude of the force, which is 17.3N(3sf).
And the component of the force perpendicular to that line is 20cos60, which is 10N. Work done is force x distance, so it's 8 x 17.3 = 138.4J

Assume object is moving in horizontal direction.
Force, 20 N, is inclined at 30° to horizontal.
Horizontal component = 20 cos 30° N = 17.3N
Vertical component = 20 sin 30° N = 10 N
Work done = 20 cos 30 ° x 8 Nm = 139 Nm
