Cleaned or clean. "It is clean," "It was clean," or "It was cleaned."

Cleant ain't a word.

I don't think cleant is a word. I also don't think learnt is a proper way for learn to be written as past tense. I clean[ed] the garage yesterday. I learn[ed] how to use learn and clean in past tense.

Anything but cleant, there's no way that word exists. I'm sure its similar to most of English, where the rules never work, as well as the fact that more than one answer can be right!

Your teacher is right. There is no such word as cleant. The word would be "cleaned" and it is used in such instances as, "He has cleaned his room." You can't say, "He cleant his room." This sounds like super slang to me. I'm from Brooklyn, NY and sometimes we say in slang things like, "I cleant it already!" But that's just plain wrong.

"Cleant" is not a word.
Past tense verb is "cleaned"
if you're talking about the condition of something then it's "clean"

I would say the past tense of clean is cleaned. I'll demostrate:

I cleaned the kitchen yesterday. The carpet was just cleaned. He cleaned the bathroom last week.

Hope that helps.

Actually it is cleaned. Or you perhaps heard the word cleanse which is not past tense but means to make clean or purify from sin or guilt.

Try the basic word clean, then add the letters -ed after it.

That makes it past tense.

Cleaned. We cleaned out the house over the weekend so that he could move closer to me someday.
