Same ol', same ol'. Social issues like this don't change over night, and 50 years really is not that long of a time in the overall scheme of things. It took women thousands of years to get to the point where they are at now. You can argue an acceleration in the past 200 years, but it seems to me that women have already hit a lull in their advancement. Look at Congress. What percentage of them make up the population? How many women are in the Senate? Doesn't seem right, and yet there also seems to be little outcry. Just enough women are being successful in business and politics for people to say, "See? Women are equal," but it simply isn't true. The fact is that few women are in positions of power, in relation to men, and the percentage coming up the ranks does not seem to be much bigger. The same problem holds for minority races. It is a joke. But until the anger and resentment of the late 19th century/early 20th century or the 1960s comes back, I just don't see women making much more than symbolic and token improvement in the next 50 years. It is not right, but there it is.

definite. I babysit (nanny) 2 women 10 and eight. i'm a month removed from 19. particularly circumstances i've got confidence like I act like a mom, and that i will see my mom in me in many circumstances. even though, the ladies can question me extra issues that are "embarrassing", when you consider that i will nevertheless act like an excellent sister to them. particularly circumstances I take them to lunch and invite one in all my friends alongside. i do no longer think of any of my friends would desire to be left on my own with young women for an prolonged time. the different women seem to think of no longer something of overtly swearing, conversing approximately intercourse, or making impolite comments approximately human beings actual visual charm. i understand women talk approximately those issues in any case, yet i've got confidence that 8 and 10 twelve months olds should not be uncovered to this manner of behaviour in a caretaker.

I see the roles changing. There are more women in college than men and also who are working in the school system with our children. If this trends keeps up we will rule the world! haha just playing. There will probably be a more equal share in the income earned and family raising. It is already happening now. But with so many women getting educated and becoming educators, hopefully the glass ceiling will be eliminated. And it will be more acceptable for a man to stay home with the children.

Each generation improves in its equality perspective. It is a slow process, however. Roles have been made open for men and women, however the belief systems in some hinder functionality in them. Women and men are allowed to be whatever they want ( with a few straggling exceptions), but many are not SOCIALLY accepted. (ie. females in the army, male home makers and nurses). This is where the roles will hopefully improve in 50 years.

50 years from now, there will be equal participation in the workforce and at home. No one will dare suggest that men or women "belong" in one of those arenas.

Ok, this should be alot of fun,,...let's make it interesting. So the year is 2057,.WOMEN have stood up and taken over...
We drain men of their seaman and freeze it for when we decide someone wants to raise a family. Once the child is born we give it to a special nursery to raise and we visit when we can fit it in our schedule. Men are prescreened for society. If they show hostile tendancies of any kind they are placed to work on farms which are seriously regulated with security. One infraction and they are lobotomized and then put back to work. Other men that show promise can decided to have a career in the field they show the most talent for through their screening...Women can come and go as they please, they have a sense of freedom they've only just begun to absorb. They are every fathomable profession of their choosing. No profession is considered to be low or demeaning to either sex. Men that can contribute may do so only if they have to be tested periodically for hostile tendancies. Men and women have more respect and consideration for each than ever before. The elderly are treated with the most respect and reverence and allowed to contribute for as long as they are able. And when they can no longer do for themselves they are given every dignity and cared for for along as is necessary. When they pass away they have a funeral where the entire community comes to pay their respects for their contribution to society and the world.
No one works overtime because it just isn't necessary. People have great lives to live and give generously of their time and money to any just cause....There is no poverty because of this and everyone pursues something in the arts.
Their are no fast food restrauants the best chefs provide the most wonderful natural foods to be consumed. When you go to the grocery store you just have to pick up pre-made meals for the week. The meals are pre-selected by computer the week before and deducted from your salary every month...
There are other foods you can have at home for those who cook as a hobby...Housekeeping is done by a staff every week. We went through the robot phase but they kept malfunctioning when they got caught in the rain so it was back to the drawing board.

Honestly, Croa, I'm not saying this to try to offend or harass anybody. You've been very nice in your answers and I want to be nice in mine, but I also want to answer you honestly.

I think men and women are starting to slowly return to their natural roles. Many women have realized that despite their upbringing and what society has told them, they want to be feminine and they want a strong man in their lives. They want to raise their own children and that is more important to them than their careers.

As women make this change, men will return to their own natures as well and want to provide for and protect his wife and family. According to my observations (and as a writer I observe alot), the nature of man is to be protective and gentle with women who are acting like women. Women who are submissive have much more power in their homes than people think, simply because a man with a submissive wife will go out of his way to please her. Her opinions carry a great amount of weight with him.

I know there are exceptions to these rules. There are the abusers and the men who hate women, but as a gender, men have a hard time harming or displeasing a woman whom he sees as weaker than himself.

I see the return of the traditional household--maybe not like it was before the feminist movement, but definitely alot more prevalent than it is now.
