Everybody likes compliments (even people who "claim" they don't care about them). Examine them closely- & then pick something about them you like; a piece of jewelry, their shoes, or something nice they said or did for someone. AND COMPLIMENT them about it. It'll make them feel alittle better about themselves- & by so doing, perhaps reduce the deathtoll in the next massacre that comes along! Small kindnesses can have BIG consequences. :)

I value our friendship . . .
You're a great friend/person/gal/fellow.
Your folks must be proud of you.
You're amazing!
How do you manage to do all you do?
I love your smile!
You're a great mom/dad/brother/sister.
You tuned your car yourself? Wow!
You're a college freshman/soph/junior/senior/grad? Wow!
You're a good cook - thanks for sharing with me.
I appreciate your help. Thank you.
I'd say to avoid comments about a persons physical attributes because except for weight loss, cosmetic stuff, they didn't do anything to look the way they do - it's an accident of birth. Constantly being complimented about looks makes a person feel as if you don't really 'see' the real person - just the superficial physical person - especially people who are very pretty/handsome. Focus on what they do, how they treat people, how hard they work.

Aww, you seem like such a sweetheart. Maybe some small things that you can say to sombody to make them feel better about themselves are:how beautiful they are to you, how their smile brightens your day, how beautiful you see them through inside and out, that they make you laugh and make your days easier, that you appreciate all the things that he or she does..ect.

Not to talk about the person directly yet talk about something not having to do with people, so you don't have to worry about people

appreciate someone. look something unique in him/her. a person will like you if you give him attention, and respect. example would be like, giving thanks by just being a friend whom you can depend on. talking something that you know would make that person happy like his favorite sports or movies. or give them something so that they may know someone is thinking of them.
