My friend is about to have a baby girl. She is choosing between the names Gwen, Marie, Sarah, Ellen, Shannon or Linda. Which one do you like better?

Shannon has been less-common lately. So if she's looking for something semi-unique, that would definitely be the way to go. I like them all, so how about using more than one?

I would pick Marie. It is interesting as a first name! (Soo boring as a middle name!)
I also lik Gwen, but it seems a bit incomplete. Does your friend like Gwendolyn or Gwyneth?
Ellen would be my third pick.
Linda is just too associated with 50 year old women just now. Does your friend like Melinda or (one of my favs) Belinda?
Shannon just never did much for me.
Sarah is timeless and beautiful. It is never a bad choice, but I know SO many little Sarahs! Way more Sarahs that Emmas or Emilys (the #1 and #2 more popular baby names in the US) where I live!

I like Sarah, Shannon or Linda best. I would see how they sound with the last name and would consider possibly combining two of the three as a first and middle name, such as Linda Sarah or Linda Shannon.

they are all very common, Gwen is probably the best out of the bunch. Now Brandi is always a good choice :)
