he was running and fell off of the bed and just sat there. and when I picked him up he was very limp and he held COMPLETEly still for about 10 mins then snapped out of it and is acting normal. This has happened more than once but the other times he wasn't dropped. He has a brother and this holding still thing has never happened to his brother. Anyway, is he okay?

First of all, do not let your hamster run around on the bed or ever put your hammy on your shoulders. He can fall off, break some bones, and become paralyzed or suffer serious internal injuries. There's nothing you or a vet could do for him then.

Small animals, usually gerbils but also other pocket pets, can sometimes have episodes called "fits" or "seizures" in response to an unfamiliar or upsetting environment. What this means is your hammy may not enjoy being out on the bed as much as you think.

Falling off the bed can be even more traumatizing. Imagine how you'd feel if you were no more than 3 ounces and went tumbling out of control in the air.... :(

Let him crawl on you while you're sitting down and maybe hold them at the same time if you can. In pairs, where one fella is nervous and the other isn't his presence can calm his brother down.

Your hamista will be fine. He's just a nervous guy.

He might have something called narcolepsy. This is when you fall asleep without being able to prevent it.
