There is a recent book out chronicling the life of a family who tried to live a year in this country without buying anything that wasn’t made in China. The quest proved tp be so difficult, that--after that year was over--they reluctantly went back to shopping just like the rest of us are forced to do. It won’t matter soon, anyway. Under our "building-an-empire-happy" government (which is apparently unable to absorb the lessons learned from the fall of the Roman and British Empires), the U. S. is headed on such a downhill trajectory that China will likely replace us as the world’s "superpower" in the not too distant future, and we then we probably won’t have the possibility of any other buying choices at all (unless WE become the country that the Chinese "outsource" to!).
