Because a very vocal small minority of a minority are full of themselves. The vast majority of Americans of all races are indifferent.

Because in the past, it has been an issue. During WWII, the government imprisoned the entire Japanese-American population on the West Coast. White plantation owners kept black slaves. Nobody thought of them as human beings for over 100 years after they were freed.

I agree with you completely. Perhaps, when the parents of today's teenagers are finally senile old people that no one listens to anymore, we can begin closing the subject because it won't be an issue. It was their big struggle, and they're still fighting it. So it comes up a lot.

Easier said than done. Tell that to white daddys that freak out when they bring a black guy home.

People have learned to feel comfortable being around people that look the same. it has no actual merit, but its just how people are taught.

you have to expend alot of effort to overcome this and begin to think openly, and sadly, many people never do
