Lets really look at this. People criticized Vick for having a 70 something passer rating, a mid 50's completion percentage, and an equal amount of TD's and INT's. Matt Schaub has these same numbers in his LIMITED NFL action. So with Schaub, you really don't know what youre getting. Its all upside and potential. At least Vick can give you 800-1000 rushing yards a year. Matt Schaub may be good, but he's not 1st round pick worthy. Yes they only swapped two spots, but the Falcons got additional picks for a career backup. The Falcons traded him when his trade value was sky high before they would lose him and get nothing. Good move for the Falcons, dumb for the Texans because they still have a horrible offensive line

Hell no. Michael Vick is a gifted QB. Falcons fans who actually watch the games see that when the O-line blocks and the WR's catch, Vick does well and they win games. When they played Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Washington, the O-line held up, the Wrs caught, and they won. They also played well against the 'Boys and lost, but Deion Sanders, a commentor at that game at the end and many exoerts agree, that "whether in free agency or the draft, they must get Mike Vick some help" in respect to their WRs. Matt Schaub, on the other hand, is an unproven backup going to play for a team that had a better QB but a terrible O-line that made Carr look bad. We used a third round pick for Schaub because of the injury Vick had in 2003, sidelining him for 11 games. We got a switch of 1st rounders, we're 8th and their tenth, we got their pick in the 2 nd round for this year and next. We robbed, absolutely robbed the Texans in this trade.

No, the Texans made a big mistake by giving that guy such a huge contract. He hasn't played much for Atlanta. I'm not too worried about his skills at the QB position, more his toughness and ability to take a hit because as QB for Houston hes gonna take a lot of 'em. Say what you will about Carr, but hes a tough guy to be sacked 50+ times a year and only miss 4 games in his career. Schaub doesn't have near the mobility that Carr does, and Carrs not that fast, so I see Schaub taking 60-70 sacks this year or having a completion% somewhere in the 45% range because he'll have to keep throwing the ball away.

no because there are enuff backups in the league that can fill in for awhile. The real answer cpmes to a head if and when vick gets hurt. thats when youll need your back up for more then a holder on fieldgoals. the texans did get a good backup in schaub but can he be an everyday qb. that remains to be seen. If they dont put a line in frint of him. he wont last the season. you think carr got sacked a lot. no line, no win, no chance. even vick couldnt run enuff to help the texans. the falcons really didnt need schaub unless the unforseeable happened and even then the falcons aren't that good of a team anyway. easy schedules have helped them get some credibility. but they have a long way to go b 4 they get a ring. even their box of cracker jacks is too big for them to wear any time soon.

sure. in addition they traded Brett Favre years in the past. i theory he would have had a injury out 12 months with the Falcons, yet they have not opened their eyes and found out that Vick is probably going certainly one of the poorest quarterbacks interior the league and he can no longer outrun protective backs from now on. Vick is a severe criminal duty and until the Falcon administration realizes this, they'll proceed to lose. Schaub will do nicely with Texas, and that i do no longer think of Joey Harrington is extra valuable than Schaub.

It depends on the health of Vick in the upcoming year. Petrino is spose to influence Vick into running less so that may help keep him on the field next year. With that being said, if Schaub out performs Vick it will be a resounding YES answer to your question. But for me, till a back up QB proves himself my vote goes with the starter. I'm a Titans fan and the Volek situation sure worked out for the best.

Well, it doesn't really matter, becuase they weren't going to give Schaub a chance. Petrino made it clear that VIck was his man, and he was going to use his talent. Schaub is the Texans starter, but I'm not sure he's gonna do any better than Carr, because there's just no one blocking.

From a owners stand point definitely no. They have the most athletically gifted individual in the NFL on their team which ='s sell out crowds & huge benefits in merchandise. I personally bought a Vick jersey because he's just insane. From a team standpoint not sure. They have been a playoff team most years under Vick, but he is yet to produce a superbowl appearance. I'd give it another two years and see if the receivers can catch a ball. They dropped tons of balls this year, and I personally think they can make a superbowl run this year. But I don't care because I'm a Steelers fan anways.

No, Vick is the face/is the franchise. Whether they win or lose, Vick puts people in the stands. Schaub is a average QB nothing special.

yes i believe they did(whoaaa big shocker) i say this b/c vick cant win the game football is a team sport i kno ppl are tired of hearing that but there has to be a reality to everything ok vick is arguably the most exciting player to watch in the NFL but no one great player can carry a team and there are plenty of examples like barry sanders and dan marino even this may sound a lil crazy but i think they should run their offense like Florida i mean it may not work out as well in the NFL but it did win them a conference and national championship but what im sayin is keep vick as starter let him get a majority of the plays but every couple downs or whateva like matt get a few snaps i would love to see how that wouldve worked out
