Unplug your PC first. Try removing your old memory module. Put the new one on the slot where you took out the old one. Do not plug in the old one yet. Plug in your PC now and turn it on. If still it does not turn on, something is wrong w/ your new memory module.

If your PC turns on, shut it down so you could plug in your old RAM module.

there may be a problem with the memory you installed . Remove it and make sure your system starts normally.

In some systems the slowest memory must be in the first memory slot.

If you can give your pc model and the memory you are adding ?
