take 3/4 and cross multiply with x/8 (multiply 3X8 and 4Xx). this will give you 4x=24, then solve by dividing 4 from both sides, which give x=6, so 6/8. then repeat the process for x/12, which should give you 9/12

The original in 3/4
In the second the denominator (the lower number) has been multiplied by 2 giving you 8. So simply multiply the numerator (the top number) by 2. You will end up with 6/8 or (2x3)/(2x4). Same thing for the other. It is like reducing in reverse.
It would also look like this:
2/2 x 3/4 = 6/8
3/3 x 3/4 = 9/12
50/50 x 3/4 = 150/200
Remember that 2/2 or 3/3 is just another way of writing 1.

3/4 = 6/8 = 9/12.
I divided 4 into 8, and multiplied by 3 to get the 6 numerator.
Then I divided 4 into 12, and multiplied by 3 to get the 9 numerator.

use cross multiplication
multiply the numerator and the denominator of the known value then divide by the denominator of the known value as in:
(3x8)/4=? (3x12)/4=?
you will get:
(3x8)/4=6 (3x12)/4=9 therefore:
3/4 = 6/8 = 9/12
