Other white men. If the Natives were fighting the English the French supplied the arms and visy versy. Later it was the precursors of the modern arms dealers who sell weapons to anyone for as much as they can get.

From other white men. (A lot like how the Iraqis got their weapons from the USA.) Seriously, fur traders and horse traders also sold guns to the Indians. I guess greed leveled the playing field. Of course, after Indians had guns they got more by winning battles against the US Army.

Europeans.
They came to trade and wanted part of the riches that were claimed by Spain and Portugal. At the time Queen Elizabeth I was in power. They were attacking some of the ships that came to the Americas from Spain (and Portugal) to take away the gold and silver-
Spain had claimed Central America (now: Mexico) and let the Portugese claim Brazil in S.America. They allowed Native Americans to remain in N.America under their "rule". The U.K. (which was not U.K. then) wanted the Natives to have their land but to benefit and increase their power also. (In order to increase their ability to protect their nation). Francis Drake is one of the leading explorers of this time that dealt with the conqering of the spaninsh Armada and trade in the Americas.

Various ways, given times and places. The French had something going with them against the settlers, Brant came along, a Loyalist. Plenty of instances of taking the firearms, horses &c after massacres of cabins, settlements, wagon trains. Out of the way trading posts. Any way you can think of.

Traders, mountain men and pillaging lone pioneers on the trail.... BTW, did you know that the Sioux and Cheyenne that wiped out Custer had his 7th cavalry outgunned? Yep, based on battlefield forensics, the Natives had higher calibre repeating rifles.
