Call local shelters that house people that for what ever reason don't have a home right now. I've done this and our local women's shelter is very glad to have these things.

Give it to charity! The Salvation Army r always looking for sheets and blankets and doonas (comforters). They won't care if they r a little worn. "One man's trash is another man's treasure". Besides the Salvos, if u don't want to give to them, there r dozens of other charities who would love to have ur old stuff.

Use a few for rags when you paint or stain. Throw the rest away. If they are at all usable give them to the Salvation Army or some other similar group

even if they have been used a lot of charities and stuff wont accept them. Something called hygene, it is not worth there time and effort to clean them off. My best advice is if there is any bushland near your house find a mate with a 4wd and dump them. Wombats get cold as well.

I tear mine up into little pieces and use it to wash the floors. I also use them to paint. I donate those in good condition to good will. Some (if really soft) I give to my dogs and cats to sleep in... the possibilities are endless, but I guess the main idea is to make sure to recycle...

The shelter is a great idea. Some churches collect stuff for many needy families.
God Bless!

See if the car washing company's would want them. If some are good and usable give them to a charity.

You can donate them to animal shelters. They use the items to clean up after animals and to make cuddly bedding for the animals awaiting adoption.
They would certainly appreciate your donation.

Put them out in the yard in a box and put a sign on it "Free to Anyone in Need". It will be gone before you know it.
