The answer is C.Now let me explain.Sound waves are longitudinal waves, that is they are propagated as a series of compressions and rarefactions.However being mechanical waves they are unable to travel in vacuum.In other words sound needs a medium for its propagation.That is why sound cannot be heard on the moon as the moon does not have an atmosphere.
