I would say Americans say America is the greatest place on the planet because outside America I dont believe everyone has the same opinion.

I would say if there is anything good about it, it's the fact that the government recognizing that the right to bear weapons is symbolic of freedom. I mean, if you think about it, the law allows an ordinary citizen to own armaments of a higher caliber than the police even own.

Although I wouldn't say that most Americans should be trusted with this right, it certainly bridges the gap between citizen and government official.

.........but I would never call America the greatest. I would rather be poor and married than rich and single, and America has not provided me with a very social life. In fact, I think the American media, what the law allows people to say about races on TV, and just the public in general, make it more difficult for me to improve (or even start) a social life. On top of that, you have senior citizen republicans that say stuff like, "Go back to your own country," and yet they would never pay even a dime to help you do so.

FYI to any racists out there: It takes about $120,000 to relocate across a border.

it's not to me.At least not always. I'm thankful to be an American. But to say proud is rather risky. I'm proud of my American family, and the men and women who fight in wars. For my family that supports America. But even when I was young I asked my mom "why do people think we are the best, don't they see the good in others?" Obviously we haven't yet. and to keep our eyes shut or live in tunnel vision is not a healthy view point.

Freedom to choose my life. Freedom to choose what I want to do in life, what education I would like to have, where I want to live, what hobbies I would like to pursue, what religion I would like to follow (or no religion at all), etc.

I am an angry American. Not being arrested for it is a pretty cool thing.
