Gud Question. Srilankan team have done good job by resting their two main bowlers in the yesterday's match against Aussies bec'z the team knows that they are in semi-finals (whatever the results may come from now on). They want to test and give other players a chance to play. Their two main bowers now have rest and they can prepare well for two big games ahead for Semi-Final and Finals(if they can).

Since Sri Lanka has already entered semi finals level, may be they do not want to risk injury to two of their best strike bowlers in the match which not of much significance to Sri Lanka. They also thought of not exposing their strike bowlers and give an opportunity to Australia to get used to play against them.

It was probably two things.
a - the players need a rest, and since they're already through to the semi's then they could rest the entire team and it won't matter because they all get to play in the next round.
b - Sri Lanka are hiding their best bowlers in the hopes that the Aussie's don't get their eye in and are able to pick the ball when it comes to the really important games.

Cause they didn't want Australia to get practice with there bowlers in hoping they will play Australia in the finals
Australia will beat them again no matter what bowlers they have

The SriLankan team indeed had a queer selection in the match versus aussies.
Maybe they thought that whatever happens they were going to go to the semi-finals.Really the players were not so keen to win in yesterday's match or they wanted to give chances to the other two bowlers

That is a trick.They did the same thing against India in 3 match series they lost to India 2-1 in India.But they won easily against India in the world cup.

arrogant and cocky as always jayawardene thought that he can try to cause an upset without his two best bowlers.
he is a loser and even with them Sri Lanka are not gonna fare much better in the finals. they are a bunch of buggers.
