what kind of reality do you wish to escape....i see many answers indicating that one can change their own perspective on their own reality.....this is, of course, true. It is also true that there are some aspects to reality that we can not escape.....such as war, hunger, the human condition that surrounds us.....even if perceptions change of such atrocities as these, there is no happy ending or warming effects.....change your own personal habits to reflect the reality you wish to see and escape what is possible to escape by changing your outlook......i think.....the next question is..."what is the truth?"

There are tons of ways to escape your reality. Alot of people don't think it's possible to escape reality, but it is. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. I like escaping reality, I do it through listening to music and writing stories. It doesn't mean I'm running from reality, you can't run from reality but you can take a vacation from it. But it's always be there.

I don't advocate drugs, so I say the natural way through a breathing technique and perspective reconstructioning. I usually listen to music while i do this too or just play a song in my head. It's interesting the way you look at all the things around you; you can warp it to which ever way you want. We can hypnotize ourselves. Its not a spiritual thing, it's based merely on the complexity of our brians and thought processes. Keep in mind, reality is what's in front of you and will always be no matter how you choose to see it. But if you choose to see it in a different light it may be seen as something else, natrually. Just by altering your own reality, it can eventually change as well. The movie Don Juan de Marco is a good example of this. His reality was always there, but he chose to make it more exciting and continued to live his life as a different character. You can choose this by imitating a schizo. or any one you choose.

Yes. Go to a different country or place. In China they have slightly different customs, as well as all other countries, which is different from our reality. On the moon, outerspace, or wherever, the gravity is different than on earth, which isn't the same normal reality, nor are there plants, water, and trees. All possible realities exist, to escape a given reality, just go somewhere else.

Escape implies choice. Schizophrenia is not a choice. You picked an ugly way to ask your question.
Conscious denial is a choice, though momentary. It involves TV, computer time, reading and many other pursuits that change out outlook from one emotion or idea to another. Not all denial is negative; not all escape is unhealthy.

Your reality might be different than other people's reality. People we call crazy probably wouldn't call themselves crazy because they live in their own reality. You could be crazy and you might not know it. You could be a brain in a jar who has made up the reality we live in. So perhaps you have already escaped reality. But other than that, drugs?

Reality is always. Schizophrenia is also a reality. Maby your asking the wrong question. I think you should be asking how do I change my circumstances.
