if they will not accept it, then pass it on to someone else, and accept the kindness that they offered up to you. unconditionally.

If they refused it... take it as the ok to make it even.
If you still owe the favor but cannot return it just yet the bestthing to do is communicate. Explain the situation you are in and behonest. As soon as you are able to give back to that person make sure you do not forget or ignore it... you will ruin the trust.

Keep your eye out for a moment when you will be able to "return the favor"... it may not be right now, but in time there will be an opportunity to "return the favor" and the recipient will gladly accept your help.

The most you can do is say "thank you" for now. Some people just don't want recognition, or to feel like they were being "too kind'. I'd wait, eventually something will come up where they will need help, and then you can repay them.

Acceptance is some time hard to handle, you do not get the message this person is giving you, think about it. There is a saying, let dead dogs be.

my best advice is to give them your friendship. give them little complements or a smile when they are feeling down. show your thankfulness for the favor and they will surly understand your situation. you could also send a thank you card or email expressing your thankfulness.

because they didn't do something for you so they could get something in return, ...and that's honorable. what goes around comes around, just pass on the 'smile' so to speak to the next person.

this person was kind to you so you should pass on the kindness. try giving it back to the person and if they still flat out refuse, be kind to another.

a simple note with a message of appreciation will do. You'll never know you will also help them in the near future
