This guy came over to me at a bar and whispered in my ear "you are beautiful...and don't let anyone ever tell you that you're not"? He then left the place. I was so confused... I also think he was gay (which makes me very confused). Any thoughts?

If he was gay, he might have thought you were transgendered. Or maybe like others said, he was just drunk and what he said meant nothing at all.

Maybe you looked down, or a bit self concious and he thought you needed to be reminded of how beautiful you are. Or maybe he was just drunk and wanted to be random.

whatevre the case, I say take the compliment for what it is and leave it at that =)

He probably thought you needed to hear that because it was true... not because he was trying to get in your pants (obviously, because he was gay...) but just because he really felt that inside and being that he was probably drunk it most likely gave him the courage and the "cry in his beer" sentiment to come right out and say it. I am a girl but I have thought things like this about other people, both men and woman and just not said it, but if I was drunk I probably would... just because sometimes people don't know these things and you think it would really help them and/or mean alot to them if they really did know the truth, what people actually think of them.

I'm not a lesbian, but I can appreciate a beatiful girl. I like beauty in all forms, nature, etc. Maybe you looked depressed & he wanted to make you feel better. There are some nice guys out there.

I would take it as a compliment. Of course, it could have been tons of other things, but since none of those is going to change your life or matter to you at all, let it be a compliment. You are beautiful.

Maybe he really thought you were beautiful. Some people are just really outspoken and say what they think. Maybe you looked self-concious and he wanted to make you feel better, who knows? Just take the compliment! :)

Maybe he thought you looked sad. Maybe he thought you were having problems with your boyfriend or something.

He could have been drunk.
Or he could have just wanted to share something that he that was just a 100% sincere comment.
