Where can I get (buy) a code (light) reader for a 1990 rx-7 convertible?

I have a 1990 rx-7 conv. and the engine light is on, I can't find a place or someone to have it checked because is not OBD II compatible or simply not a 1996 or newer car, so where can I find this kind of light code reader, or tricks? please help
