After you download and update the program, dixconnect from the internet, disable your anti-virus AND firewall, install the program, re-enable your anti-virus and firewall and then re-connect to the internet.

log on as an administrator not as an guest or mare user
then disconnect from your internet ,disable the anti-virus firewall, and unistall anti-virus then try install new program then re-install the anti-virus connect thru internet, configure windows firewall to enable inbound and outbound relation of your new program and then it will run properly with update etc.

Try to disable the anti virus. I have installed many programs without doing it, but it is worth a try.

It depends on what program you are trying to install. But try to unable your anti virus and your firewall. It might be the cause of the problem.

Try to disable it, and if your anti-virus program is not allowing you to install your new program, maybe it's because the program has malicious code that may harm your computer, that's why I've switched to Mac.
